Dementia affects close to half a million Australians. That number is set double in the next 25 years.
If we are to prepare for this increase, it is vital we clear up some of the prevailing misconceptions about dementia.
The concept for Dementia Action Week 2020, 'A little support makes a lot of difference', has been developed in consultation with Dementia Advocates, who have a lived experience of dementia. The stories and voices that will feature across Dementia Action Week are real.

A spot to remember for Lane Cove Gardens residents who walked this week from Athol Park near Taronga Zoo around the foreshore to Chowder Bay (and coffee). 1/2 way round is the navy memorial site featuring the spectacular mast of HMAS Sydney (1) which is dedicated to the memory of the Petty Officers and men who were killed in the action against ` S.M.S. Emden` at Keeling Island near Cocos Island on November 9th 1914. Next to the mast is the circular, convict-built parapet built as protection for Sydney town.
